Bringing home a French Bulldog puppy is an exciting milestone! To make the transition smooth and stress-free, it’s important to prepare ahead of time. Having the right supplies and a well-thought-out plan will set you and your new furry friend up for success.

Essential Supplies for Your French Bulldog Puppy

🔹 Crate or Kennel – A crate provides your puppy with a cozy, safe space of their own. It helps with house training, setting boundaries, and giving them a comfortable retreat. I recommend an adjustable crate that’s at least 25 inches high to accommodate their growth.

🔹 Harness, Collar & Leash – While collars are great for ID tags, many Frenchie owners prefer harnesses for walking. Each has its benefits, but I personally find martingale collars to be the best tool for leash training. Stay tuned for an upcoming video where I’ll dive into this in more detail!

🔹 ID Tag & Microchip Information – Always ensure your pup has an ID tag with up-to-date contact info. If they’re microchipped, confirm the details are registered correctly—this is a crucial safety step!

🔹 Food & Bowls – Ask your breeder about the food your puppy is currently eating and consult your vet at their first appointment to determine the best diet.

🔹 Grooming Supplies – French Bulldogs may have short coats, but they still shed! A rubber-bristled brush or shedding blade can help manage loose fur. Don’t forget essentials like pet wipes, dog-safe shampoo, and q-tips for ear cleaning.

🔹 Toys & Chews – Your puppy will be teething and testing boundaries, so safe chew toys and stuffed animals are a must!

Puppy-Proofing Your Home

Before your Frenchie arrives, take some time to make your home safe:✔️ Hide electrical cords and chargers✔️ Store away shoes, valuables, and anything fragile✔️ Keep toxic plants and cleaning products out of reach✔️ Designate a cozy, quiet space where your puppy can settle in

Finding a Vet You Can Trust

Choosing the right veterinarian is essential, especially one with experience in French Bulldogs. Ask your breeder for recommendations, join local online forums, and do your research. Since Frenchies are prone to certain health conditions, having a knowledgeable vet can make all the difference.

Bringing home a French Bulldog puppy is an exciting and rewarding experience. Don’t let preparation overwhelm you—being ready will only make this time more enjoyable!
