PUPPY RETURN & REFUND POLICY

At C&C Bulldogs, the health, safety and lifelong well-being of every puppy we place is extremely important to us. We understand that circumstances can change and, in some cases, an owner may no longer be able or willing to care for their puppy.

RETURNING A PUPPY

If at any time the purchaser determines that they can no longer keep or properly care for the puppy, C&C Bulldogs asks that we be contacted immediately.

We will work with the purchaser to determine the most appropriate next steps for the puppy, which may include the puppy being returned to C&C Bulldogs so that a suitable new home can be found. Returning a puppy does not automatically entitle the purchaser to a refund.

CHANGE OF MIND / PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Once a puppy has been transferred into the purchaser's care, C&C Bulldogs cannot provide a full refund simply because the purchaser changes their mind or because their personal circumstances have changed.

Examples may include, but are not limited to:

  • Change in living arrangements

  • Landlord or condominium restrictions

  • Family or relationship changes

  • Allergies

  • Work or scheduling changes

  • Financial circumstances

  • The time or responsibility involved in caring for a puppy

  • Compatibility with children, pets or other household members

  • Behavioural or training challenges

  • A purchaser simply deciding that puppy ownership is no longer right for them

Purchasers are responsible for ensuring that they are prepared for the financial, personal and long-term commitment associated with owning a dog before completing their purchase.

WHY A FULL REFUND CANNOT GENERALLY BE PROVIDED

The purchase price of a puppy reflects considerably more than the transfer of the puppy itself.

Before a puppy leaves C&C Bulldogs, significant time, care and expenses have already been invested in the puppy and the litter. These may include breeding-related expenses, prenatal and postnatal care, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, deworming, food, housing, cleaning and supplies, socialization, administrative expenses and the time required to raise and care for the puppy.

Many of these costs are incurred before the puppy leaves and cannot be recovered if the puppy is later returned.

In addition, accepting a returned puppy may result in further expenses, including veterinary assessment, food, housing, care, advertising, administration and the time required to responsibly locate and screen another suitable home.

For these reasons, returning a puppy should not be treated in the same manner as returning an unused retail product.

REFUNDS

Except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly provided under a separate written health guarantee, C&C Bulldogs does not guarantee a refund when a purchaser voluntarily returns a puppy.

If C&C Bulldogs agrees to provide any refund or reimbursement following a voluntary return, the amount will be determined at C&C Bulldogs' discretion after considering the circumstances of the return, the puppy's age, health and condition, and reasonable expenses associated with the original placement, return, care and potential rehoming of the puppy.

Any refund approved by C&C Bulldogs must be confirmed in writing.

HEALTH CONCERNS

This policy does not replace or limit any separate written health guarantee provided by C&C Bulldogs or any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

Any claim relating to the puppy's health must be handled according to the terms, timelines and veterinary documentation requirements contained in the applicable health guarantee.

OUR PRIORITY IS THE PUPPY

Regardless of the reason for a return, our first priority will always be the health, safety and appropriate placement of the puppy.

We encourage purchasers experiencing difficulties to contact C&C Bulldogs as early as possible. We would much rather have the opportunity to help find a responsible solution than have one of our dogs surrendered, abandoned or placed in an unsuitable home.
